May 30th - Another night of baseball equals the NY Mets getting shut out for the first time! Barry Zito got his fifth win of the season while Pedro Feliz had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Giants past the Mets 3-0. Also, Paul Lo Duca got his 1,000th career hit during the game!
Torii Hunter walked with the bases loaded in the ninth inning, forcing in the winning run as the Twins rallied from a 6-1 deficit to complete a three-game sweep of the White Sox with a 7-6 victory.
The Atlanta Braves scored seven runs in the eighth inning off three different Milwaukee relievers to beat the Brewers 9-3. Atlanta's Brian McCann got a taste of redemption. An inning after the catcher had a ball slip by him that allowed the Brewers to score the go-ahead run, McCann's three-run double put the Braves in front to stay.
Dan Haren won his sixth straight decision, giving up four hits in eight innings and lowering his ERA to an AL-leading 1.64 in the Athletics' 6-1 victory over the Rangers.
Derek Lowe pitched seven scoreless innings, reached base three times and scored once as the Dodgers shut out the Nationals for the second straight game. Russell Martin hit a two-run homer in the sixth for a 4-0 lead. The Dodgers went on to win 5-0.
Paul Byrd won his fifth straight decision and extended his streak without issuing a walk to 43 innings, and the Cleveland Indians came from behind for an 8-4 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night.
Randy Johnson can etch his name in record books once again. He won the battle with Jaime Moyer in the oldest matchup of lefties in MLB history, giving up just one hit in six innings as the D-Backs swept the three-game series with the Phillies. The D-Backs won the game 4-3.
Johnny Damon hit a home run to spark a five-run first inning, and Alex Rodriguez distracted the Blue Jays as the Yankees stepped out of their slump and ended a five-game losing streak with a 10-5 win.
Chris Young combined with two relievers on a five-hit shutout, giving up four hits and fanning seven in seven innings of the Padres' 9-0 victory over the Pirates.
James Shields, who powered through a stretch where he retired 13 straight batters, threw the second complete game of his career and the Devil Rays rallied from a 3-0 first-inning deficit to rebound from a brutal 14-2 loss to the Tigers. The Devil Rays went on to win the game 5-3.
Jay Payton's single in the eighth inning yielded the winning run as the Orioles beat the Royals 3-0 in an old-fashioned pitching duel between Baltimore's Erik Bedard and Kansas City's Gil Meche.
Dan Uggla homered twice, and Miguel Cabrera and Josh Willingham went deep to lead the Marlins to a 9-0 shutout against the Cubs.
The Angels scored four runs in the first and three in the fifth, including a three-run shot by Vladimir Guerrero, to hold off the Mariners on Wednesday night and get an 8-6 win.
Aaron Harang tossed a six-hitter, striking out seven, retiring 14 straight between the second and seventh innings and pitching a scoreless ninth to finish his ninth career complete game in the Reds' 4-3 win over the Astros, the 10th consecutive loss for Houston.
Todd Wellemeyer earned a victory in his first major league start as the Cardinals beat Colorado 8-4 to end the Rockies' seven-game winning streak.
